About
Lawrence Parent’s design practice explores the intersection of urban environments, nature, and sustainability. His work challenges conventional ideas of design and public space by integrating living organisms directly into built structures, creating rough, textured surfaces that foster symbiotic relationships between cities and nature. He is particularly interested in addressing biodiversity loss and reconnecting people with nature in urban spaces.
Since graduating with a degree in Product Design from the University of Brighton in 2020, Lawrence has developed a modular and experimental approach that blends computational design, digital fabrication, and handcrafted techniques such as ceramics and concrete casting. His designs prioritize adaptability and sustainability, using eco-friendly materials and methods that reduce environmental impact. His work spans both domestic and urban settings, creating flexible, plant-friendly structures that seamlessly integrate into everyday life.
